The Rollo Clan Chief is David, 14th Lord Rollo and Baron Dunning. The
Rollos are members of the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs. Lord Rollo's family has produced many
generations of distinguished military men. David and his father Eric (the 13th Lord) were both Captains of
the Grenadier Guards. David's grandfather John (the 12th Lord) was with the 1st Battalion of the Black
Watch. The 11th Lord, William Charles Wordsworth Rollo, was Lt Colonel of the 3rd Battalion of the Black
Watch (Royal Highlanders). Andrew, the 5th Lord, served as a Brigadier General in the First American War.
The Clan Chief's family links with Scotland can be traced back over
600 years. The Chief's badge (above) is the symbol of clan affiliation and is generally worn as a bonnet
badge by clansmen. A clansman is one who professes allegiance to his clan Chief and respects the law of Arms
in Scotland.
Under Scottish law, the Rollo Arms (colloquially the family crest) are
personal to Lord Rollo, and may not be used or displayed by others without permission. Even an eldest son
may not bear his father's arms during his father's lifetime. On the death of the owner of arms, it descends
to his heir (normally the eldest son). The Chief also has a standard (see below). The badge, arms and
standard all bear the motto "La fortune passe partout" (Fortune passes over everywhere).

There is a Rollo Clan Association which meets annually, usually in
Perthshire, Scotland. Members of the Clan Association receive a Newsletter each northern Spring and Autumn.
